Zvezda's new attack on Edmund Addo: Closer than ever

A year ago, the red and whites failed to reach an agreement with the Sheriff regarding compensation. 1,800,000 euros was a little bit for the Moldovans, since Midtjylland joined the race later, so the price suddenly jumped to 2,500,000. It turned out that the midfielder from Ghana did not go to Denmark, so the leaders of Zvezda tried again last summer to bring the 22-year-old footballer. The uncertainty lasted until the last day of the transfer window, but again there was no agreement. In this case, the problem was not the compensation amount (2,000,000), but the dynamics of the payment. Sheriff demanded that the money be paid as soon as possible, while Crvena zvezda offered installments over 12 months.

According to Mozzart Sport, the agreement is now closer than ever and it remains only to clarify certain details, which should not represent a brake in the final realization of the transfer. Therefore, Edmund Addo could already be at the first team meeting of Red Star at the beginning of 2023.

It is about a player who is in the 2020/2021 season. was a crucial factor in Sherif's historic placement in the Champions League, and then in the victory over Real Madrid, when the Moldovan club won 2:1 as a guest.

The quality of the midfielder from Ghana is not disputed, but it will be of great importance for the red and whites that he completes winter preparations under the supervision of coach Miloš Milojević, because he played his last competitive game back in June, when he played with the Ghana national team in the qualifiers for the African Cup of Nations. Addo, however, was not a participant in the World Cup in Qatar, as he did not play a single minute this season for Sheriff, with whom he is under contract until the summer of 2024.

The young midfielder arrived in Slovakia's Senica as an 18-year-old from Ghana, from which he transferred to Sherif in July 2021. His arrival at Red Star would probably be a preparation for a possible parting with Sekou Sanoga.
